Chillicothe, OH (February 9, 2010)
Appointments are being scheduled now for the upcoming free tax help clinics hosted by the Ross County EITC Coalition. The “Super Saturday” events will be held:
- February 13: Stevenson Center, Ohio University-Chillicothe, 9 am to 2 pm
- February 20: Ross County JFS One-Stop, 150 East Second St., 9 am to 2 pm.
On February 13, interpreters will be available to assist individuals who are deaf, hearing impaired, or Spanish-speaking.
The free service is available to anyone who may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit, Additional Child Tax Credit and/or the Expanded Hope Credit. College students also may be eligible for tax credits for tuition, books and student loan interest.
Wage earners whose annual household income is less than $57,000 may qualify for the free tax preparation assistance. These tax returns can be e-filed and refunds may be deposited in a checking or savings account in as little as 5 to 7 days.
Interested individuals should call 779-2798 in advance to determine eligibility, verify documents required, and schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, but may wait longer for help.
