Sidewalk artists invited to the park

"Community Day" events kick off United Way Campaign

Chillicothe, OH (September 17, 2009)

Entry forms are available now for the 4th annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest in Yoctangee Park. The competition is a highlight of "Community Day" events on Sunday, September 27, the official kickoff for this year's United Way Campaign.

Sidewalk "artists" of all ages and skill levels - from toddlers to boomers, amateurs and professionals - are eligible to participate as individuals, groups and teams. Each participant will be assigned a 5-foot by 5-foot section of sidewalk to draw upon and, for a $5 registration fee, will receive a box of sidewalk chalk and a free backpack. Participants may begin artwork at any time after 11 a.m.; judging begins at 4:30 p.m. Certificates and ribbons will awarded in all age and talent categories; a special prize will be awarded for the entry best depicting the United Way theme, "LIVE UNITED."

Entry forms for the contest are available online for download (pdf) and at United Way of Ross County, 53 East Second Street. Entries also will be accepted at the event.
