Chillicothe, OH (March 6, 2008)After several months of canvassing the community and encouraging businesses and individuals to support the work of 18 agencies, volunteers gathered this evening to celebrate their efforts in raising $715,653.89 for United Way of Ross County. The final tally represents 98.7% of the $725,000 goal set for the 2007-2008 Community Campaign.
“We are grateful for the community’s generous response, especially at a time when many are facing economic challenges,” says Community Campaign Chairman Bob Gallagher. “Once again, Ross County has affirmed United Way’s mission to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community. We truly do care about ‘what matters’ ,” says Gallagher, director of Ross County Job & Family Services.
In awards and recognitions, the following were cited among top donors: Corporate – Kenworth Truck Company, Glatfelter, NewPage; Business – Horizon Chillicothe Telephone, United Parcel Service (UPS), Nationwide Insurance; Public Service: Adena Health System, Ross County Job & Family Services, Chillicothe City Schools; First Capital Rotary Club.
