"Super Saturday" targets tax credits for college students
Interpreters available for hearing impaired, Spanish language
Chillicothe, OH (February 9, 2010)
Appointments are being scheduled now for the upcoming free tax help clinics hosted by the Ross County EITC Coalition. The “Super Saturday” events will be held:
- February 13: Stevenson Center, Ohio University-Chillicothe, 9 am to 2 pm
- February 20: Ross County JFS One-Stop, 150 East Second St., 9 am to 2 pm.
On February 13, interpreters will be available to assist individuals who are deaf, hearing impaired, or Spanish-speaking.
The free service is available to anyone who may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit, Additional Child Tax Credit and/or the Expanded Hope Credit. College students also may be eligible for tax credits for tuition, books and student loan interest.
Wage earners whose annual household income is less than $57,000 may qualify for the free tax preparation assistance. These tax returns can be e-filed and refunds may be deposited in a checking or savings account in as little as 5 to 7 days.
Interested individuals should call 779-2798 in advance to determine eligibility, verify documents required, and schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, but may wait longer for help. Transportation assistance may be arranged. For those who cannot attend on Saturday, weekday and evening appointments are available.
