Chillicothe, OH (October 11, 2007) More than 100 volunteers are working this year to raise funds for United Way of Ross County’s 2007-2008 Community Campaign. Representing five campaign divisions, these volunteers have accepted the challenge to raise $725,000 in pledges and donations to fund programs provided by 18 agencies.

A local company that has conducted a “pacesetter” campaign will be introduced Sunday at 5 p.m. during closing ceremonies for the “Community Day” kickoff event in Yoctangee Park.
Community Day: United Way volunteers and agencies are hosting a variety of fun family events, including a “Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest,” Petland Pet Fair, pumpkin painting, face painting, children’s games, displays and concessions. “Mike Boyle & Friends” will provide musical entertainment. And the 40 & 8 fish stand will be open.
Registration for the Sidewalk Art Contest opens at 11 a.m. at the Water Street entrance to Yoctangee Park; judging begins at 4:30 pm. Other activities and entertainment begin at 1 p.m. at or near the new Rotary Shelter.
