2014-2015 Campaign at 97.7% of Goal!

Thanks to the continued generosity of our community and local businesses, the United Way of Ross County is on record pace to meeting its campaign goal of $625,000!  This morning at the Paccar Medical Building at Adena Hospital, several local business leaders presented sizable donations to United Way of Ross County.  Steve Steele, COO of Horizon presented a check for $25, 532 from the company and its employees;  Mark Shuter, President and CEO of Adena Health System presented a check for $74,770.21 from employees and Adena corporate;  and Judy McTigue of Kenworth presented a check from employees for $106,350 that adds to the generous gift from the Paccar foundation presented early in the campaign for $135,000.  These local leaders spoke of their commitment to making a positive impact on Ross County.

Glatfelter, presented a check yesterday to United Way for $57,301 from employees and corporate.  At the last campaign update meeting in November, Fluor-B&W Portsmouth presented United Way of Ross County with a check for $34,854, but raised $130,000 total for United Ways of Ross, Pike Jackson and Scioto Counties.  In addition to these notable donations, Nationwide Insurance, through local agents and matching corporate gifts has generously donated $21,436.50.  Other Platinum Donors ($5000 and above) include PPG Industries, Herrnstein Chrysler Dodge Jeep, and Nourse Chillicothe Automall.

Many of these businesses engaged in creative in-house campaigns run by employees to raise the money. Obadiah Harris and Jeff Downs of Kenworth, and Missy Brenner of Adena were three employee campaign chairs present this morning, who worked hard coming up with creative ways to raise money. Jean days and a prime parking spot auction were some of the ways Kenworth raised money. Adena did auctions and T-shirt sales to name a few.  Fluor did a talent show with dinner and golf scramble.  PPG did e-bingo among employees, raffles, managers wearing a cow costume for a day, and corn-hole.  Many of our local leaders to include OUC and the Sheriff's department staff took pies in the face for the cause.  Raising money for locals in need, while building esprit-de-corps among employees benefits us all!  Thank you to all out there who have done your part to "Live United"!
