Community Engagement Coordinator
Position Overview: The Community Engagement Coordinator for the United Way of Ross County (UWRC) leads the development and direction of the community impact agenda, implements the work plan to support that agenda, and coordinates the volunteer component of UWRC. The coordinator uses electronic data tools to organize and store relevant information pertaining to programs and initiatives and communicates effectively within the organization and with community partners.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position (35 hours per week), reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer of the United Way of Ross County. This position starts at $22.00.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the development, implementation and operations of Community Programs including daily operations, expansion, and collective partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO to design objectives and strategies that accomplish the organization's community impact goals.
- Initiate and foster partnerships with the school district, community volunteers and others to ensure the growth and sustainability of the organization’s programs; act as the liaison to local networks and organizations affiliated with UWRC programs.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate UWRC managed programs.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and oversee community program volunteers.
- Ensure volunteer engagement through effective communication and serve as a liaison addressing and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Support the organization with annual giving campaigns, community impact funds, community impact partnerships, community grants, community partnerships and events in addition to UWRC managed programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or four years’ experience in non-profit and/or program management.
- One year experience in managing major programs/projects.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and physical ability to perform essential duties requiring standing, reaching, bending and walking.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel by automobile is required for position management responsibilities.
- Frequency of travel: Often throughout the county and occasionally regional.
