United Way: Working for healthier lives and lifestyles
To improve quality of life for community, we must address people's health needs, risks, and resources for medical, dental and mental health care. We are committed to improving access to quality health care and reducing risks and behaviors, such as obesity, smoking, physical inactivity, alcohol and drug abuse, food insecurity, and teen pregnancies.
Our Vision
Ross County residents will have access to services they need to become and remain physically and mentally healthy.
Our Goal
Increase the number of Ross County youth and adults who are healthy and avoid risky behaviors. Our efforts will focus on expanding access to quality health care, wellness, and healthy lifestyle education.
Our Strategy
Achieving this goal requires building awareness of health risks and understanding their impact. We work to:
1.) Support programs that offer free or income-based health care and mental health services so everyone can access the care they need.
2.) Address food insecurity and improve nutrition through community partnerships and resources.
3.) Meet immediate needs through direct support, including:
Mighty Active Pack Club, which provides over 200 nutritious food packs each week to children in local school districts, so they have healthy meals over the weekends.
Drive-Thru Produce Market Program, hosting three markets each month in Bainbridge, Huntington, and Chillicothe, where families can access fresh fruits and vegetables at no cost.
By working together with local organizations, health providers, and community members, United Way of Ross County is creating a stronger, healthier community for everyone.
