Ross County nonprofits: Apply now for United Way’s community impact grant.

United Way of Ross County is now accepting applications for its 2026 Community Impact Funding.

According to a community announcement, the funding supports local initiatives that strengthen community resiliency, expand youth opportunity, promote financial stability and build a healthy community.

Nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status that serve Ross County are invited to apply for grant funding through the United Way's website at unitedwayross.org. The application period runs from Sept. 10 through Oct. 10. Funding decisions will be announced in December of this year.

A new Ross County effort is giving unused food a second life.

A new food rescue program will help reduce food waste and support families in need in Ross County.

The program, a partnership between the Ross County Health District, Unidine Corp. and the Good Samaritan Food Pantry, aims to divert edible food from local restaurants, grocery stores and other sources to families who need it, according to a community announcement.

As a nutritional site facility, we also ensure that our seniors have access to healthy meals and resources to support their well-being.

The Assistance House of Ross County is dedicated to supporting working-class individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our board members, and the hard work of our staff and volunteers, we are able to offer more programs than ever before.

In addition to rent and utility assistance, we provide a back-to-work program, a back-to-school program, help with eyeglasses, as well as diapers and wipes for families in need.
