Helping Ross County Children Start School Ready to Learn
Success By 6 is a United Way of Ross County initiative designed to improve kindergarten readiness, so every child has a strong start.
By partnering with Ross County public school districts, this program provides extra support for children who need help developing early math, literacy, and social skills before entering kindergarten.
How It Works
Each Ross County school district receives at least one $4,500 grant to host a four-week kindergarten readiness class for up to 15 children.
Targeted Support
Children are identified by their school during the kindergarten enrollment process. Classes are taught by certified kindergarten teachers and aides.
Comprehensive Approach
Meals and transportation are provided to remove barriers to attendance. Each child receives a minimum of 56 hours of instruction over four weeks of four-day classes.
Measuring Impact
Students take a pre- and post-program assessment to track progress.
